The Nature Conservancy and Pegasys are pleased to announce the Nature for Water (N4W) Program to drive watershed health through the large-scale deployment of Nature-based Solutions.
This program provides comprehensive support, including program preparation, implementation assistance, and expertise in hydrology, GIS, ecology, governance, stakeholder engagement, finance, and project management.
Winning applicants receive in-kind technical assistance from the N4W team to support program preparation and capacity-building. Typical applicants include utilities, river basin organizations, and water sector consortia.
Eligibility Criteria
- Before you begin your application, please revise the basic eligibility requirements.
- To qualify for pro-bono support, submissions must comply with the following basic conditions:
- Submissions must be made in English or Spanish.
- The Applicant’s nominated “Local lead” must be fluent in one of their currently supported languages: English, Portuguese or Spanish.
- They do not have any geography-related eligibility restrictions, although they are particularly interested in receiving applications from Asia and Europe for this Call for Proposals.
- In terms of the Applicant’s organization/consortium, please note:
- The Applicant must be a legitimate entity with a healthy tax status, that can readily enter a formal agreement with them.
- Strong preference will be given to Applicants/Consortia that include water authorities, government agencies, river basin organizations, and utilities responsible for managing bulk water resources, providing water treatment, and addressing flood risks.
Evaluation Criteria
- Each submission will be evaluated based on the following considerations:
- Application Request: Clear alignment between applicant’s request and N4W’s service offering.
- Program Summary: A well-articulated program vision articulating the water security challenge and solution statement, including the likely Nature-based Solutions to be deployed, target beneficiaries, and expected co-benefits.
- Organizational Strength: Strong representation from the applicant organization/consortium demonstrating ownership, mandate, and access to financial resources.
- Local Lead Commitment: Significant dedication from the local lead (specific champion within the applicant organization/consortia that will act as counterparty for the collaboration with N4W) to advance program development.
