Job Title: History Teacher IGCSE
Location: MaryLand, Lagos
Position Overview
- We are seeking a passionate and dedicated History Teacher to join our academic team.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching history at the IGCSE level, with the ability to deliver engaging lessons that foster critical thinking and a deep understanding of historical events and contexts.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Delivery:
- Plan and deliver well-structured, engaging history lessons that cater to the abilities of all students and align with the IGCSE syllabus.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that promote a passion for history and encourage analytical thinking.
Assessment and Monitoring:
- Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, attainment, and behavior of students.
- Provide regular feedback to students and parents, identifying areas for improvement and celebrating achievements.
Classroom Management:
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters active participation, respect, and inclusivity among students.
- Maintain high standards of student behavior, ensuring all students feel safe and are engaged in the learning process.
Professional Development:
- Participate in departmental meetings, planning, and professional development activities.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in history education and the IGCSE curriculum.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in History or a related field.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching certification.
- Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience, with at least 3 years teaching IGCSE History.
- Strong understanding of the IGCSE curriculum and examination requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their best.
