Job Title: Customer Service (HIM) Officer
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
The Opportunity
- We are seeking a Customer Service Officer (HIM) who will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient-facing service while supporting the integrity, security, and management of health records and client information.
- This role blends excellent communication skills with technical understanding of health information protocols, making it ideal for a customer-oriented professional with a background in Health Information Management or a related field.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients, clients, and visitors with professionalism and warmth.
- Manage patient registration, documentation, and ensure accurate data entry into hospital systems.
- Maintain the confidentiality and security of patient information in compliance with hospital policies.
- Support timely retrieval and filing of patient records for clinical teams.
- Resolve customer inquiries, concerns, and escalate service issues appropriately.
- Collaborate with medical and administrative staff to streamline patient flow and enhance service experience.
- Participate in quality audits and ensure alignment with data and documentation standards (e.g., ISO, COHSASA).
Ideal Candidate Profile
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Health Information Management, Public Administration, or related field.
- Certification or formal training in customer service or records management is an added advantage.
Experience & Skills:
- 1 – 3 years’ experience in a hospital, clinic, or customer service role.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and data entry abilities.
- Working knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR) systems and patient documentation practices.
- Professional appearance and ability to remain calm under pressure.
